A decade shaped by good drinks, music and people
After a decade in Seoul’s Hannam-dong, Bar 232 (@232seoul) will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a special party, “232 10TH ANNIVERSARY,” on October 22 and 23.
Since opening in 2016, 232 has aimed to be a place where good drinks, music and people come together naturally. Seoul-based artists and bartenders who have been part of 232’s journey will join the anniversary celebration.
Paloalto, PEAKBOY, MOON SUJIN, UGLYDUCK, KIRIN, J-TONG and DJ SOULSCAPE are among the artists from the hip-hop, R&B and DJ scenes set to perform over the two days.
Night one: The party begins at 232
On October 22, 232’s existing space will host guest bartending, live performances and a DJ party from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. the next day.
Paloalto, a longtime figure in Korean hip-hop, will perform live, while DJs FALLENS, HOOKUO, SINDOGG, AYLA, MANSIIICK and AKAI, among others, will keep the music going.
With music, cocktails and guest bartending all taking place in the bar 232 has operated, the first night looks set to showcase the character of the space it has built over the past decade.
Night two: The music moves to two Itaewon venues
On October 23, the celebration expands to AT SOCIAL CLUB and GRAIN in Itaewon, with more artists joining the live performances and DJ parties.
At AT SOCIAL CLUB, which opens at 7 p.m., PEAKBOY, MOON SUJIN, LIONCLAD, JASON LEE, KIRIN and UGLYDUCK are scheduled to perform live. VINX, PULLUP BOI, CHANXER, LOTI, ISAAC and SERA are among the DJs on the lineup.
At GRAIN, starting at 10 p.m., J-TONG will perform live, while DJ SOULSCAPE, ANDOW, DJ CO.KR, L-LIKE, IÖN, OUIDAEHAN, PEAKBOY, DAUL, AKAI, DNOPF and MIGGIM, among others, will keep the music going late into the night.
The anniversary celebration begins in one space before moving on the second night to venues with distinct musical identities, highlighting the ties between 232 and Seoul’s local music scene.
